B.S. in EE, Robert College (1971); M.S. and Ph.D. in EE, Bogaziçi University (1973, 1979).
Dr. Cerid is lecturing at Bogaziçi University since 1979, during which time he taught courses in the fields of electronics, design of analog VLSI, communication electronics, microprocessors and computer system design, and ultrasonic equipment. Dr. Cerid was the project manager of a one million dollar research grant given by the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defense Industries. Dr. Cerid founded a Microprocessor laboratory, a Digital Signal Processing and Image Processing laboratory, an Electronic CA D/CAM and VLSI Design laboratory, and an Advanced Test and Measurement laboratory. He has been Deputy Chairman of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department between the years 1986 to 1995.
Research interests : Analog and digital VLSI design, analog and digital electronics, communication electronics, microprocessor and microcomputer hardware and software design, design of microprocessor based instrumentation, communication and control system s, design of digital signal processing hardware systems for speech and image processing.
